I'm so pleased with the reviews of the show. I thought they were all very fair. There were some scenes where I felt the choreography was unfinished but I had got to a point with the show where I needed to focus on quality instead of just carrying on creating and giving the performers new things to learn. I do hope in the future I will return to the show and finish it properly. The more I see, the more I think it deserves to be expanded into a full length show.

Nicholas Minns' review of the night is here.
I really appreciate the way Nicholas Minns names all the dancers as they really worked so hard on the show and their creativity in the rehearsal room is also what made the show.
I also liked the fact he discusses the use of music because the first thing I did in creating this show was create a playlist of lots of great music which use the word baby in a way which could make sense in the context of the show. There were so many wonderful tracks but I chose music that really meant something to me and, while I listened to them, I just needed to choreograph.
The music editing is something I like to do myself as the music is so much part of my choreographic process and it helps move the show structure forward, the more editing I do. Once it has been edited, I then add on any appropriate layers of sound such as the baby crying sound (which was Dylan of course) and the heartbeat monitor sound for the child birth (red cloth) scene (OK, I sourced this one).
It was also lovely that Minns mentioned the round of applause we got because there was a definite roar from the audience at the end of the show, in fact, from the minute the babies took to the stage they became more vocal. It is lovely that on the film of the show, these moments have all been captured.
