‘It’s science fiction dance theatre,’ that was Rhiannon’s answer when I asked her to describe her new show. I immediately loved the concept and thankfully C-12 Dance Theatre did too and it was selected for their Emerge Festival. The show tells the story of a family’s last moments together at home before aliens invade Earth. It’s kind of like War of the Worlds meets dance.
We have been really busy putting the show together in rehearsals, which have been a lot of fun and given the science fiction angle, a little different. We have been creating alien inspired dance moves, amongst other things. I never thought that I would be looking up clips of Jar Jar Binks for inspiration.

The show also gives us a real license to be really creative with our publicity photos. One of my favourites is the top photo above, we call it alien heads. It was created by lighting ourselves with the torches on our mobile phones in a pitch black room. We look forward to sharing more of these photos with you.
